Why use positive reinforcement instead of the old methods?
We want our dogs to behave and to learn. Using positive reinforcement is the best way to teach
them. Positive reinforcement training is where a reinforcer, such as a treat or praise, is given to the
dog after the dog demonstrates a desired behavior, such as sitting. This type of training provides the
best environment for learning and the best results. Not only will your dog learn polite behavior, but
humans might learn a few things, too!
